Conference topics
The conference invites original contributions potentially covering from research on fundamentals, theories and concepts to practical use cases and applications. Of course, these will include comprehensive R&D work (completed or in progress) that address issues and solutions for ICT in AEC/FM. The scope is therefore very broad and certainly encompasses process optimisation, extended products and future services for homes, buildings infrastructures etc. and issues of, for instance, environmental impacts or energy efficiency.
Suggested topics include, but are not limited to :
- Industrialised production in AEC : smart catalogues, ICT for modular customised constructions, logistics, assembly & services, intelligent / digital construction sites, ambient manufacturing and construction, etc.;
- Digital models & electronic mock-ups : 3D to nD models, BIM (Building Information Model/Management) access to life time information for future stakeholders anywhere & anytime, ICT covering design / configuration / analysis, multi-disciplinary physics simulation & visualisation / virtual reality, life-cycle & sustainable assessment, model-based decision support, etc.;
- Interoperability : ontologies and open ICT standards for semantic communication, ICT infrastructures, cross-sectoral interoperability, integration of BIMs with other models (e.g. GIS), digital frameworks for developing engineering models, ontologies for construction rules & constraints, quality assurance, etc.;
- Intelligent constructions : smart embedded systems and devices for building monitoring, integrated automation and control, remote diagnostics and control, adaptive multi-modal interfaces, embedded learning & user support, etc.;
- Collaboration and innovation support : ICT tools for information sharing, project steering, negotiations, decision support, risk mitigation, coordination supports for design and construction activities, IDS (Intelligent Design Systems), etc.;
- Knowledge management & sharing : ICT for transforming project experiences into corporate assets, object repositories, IPR protection of shared data, context aware applications, knowledge mining & semantic search, document sharing and content management, etc.
Moreover, contributions on original and innovative ICT applications in dedicated fields are more than welcome, like decision support systems for universal design of buildings, ICT-based applications for energy efficiency, environmental monitoring, the ageing population, assistive technologies for the built environment, policy, legal framework, rules and regulations, etc..
There will be an associated social programme allowing essential time for informal contact, networking and relaxation.
